Are You Ready For Some Darkness?
When Turbonegro are in town, you know from the outset it is going to be a big night. A big fuckn night! With the Hifi Bar long sold out for this gig, a classic night of bonafide hard and fast Punk Rock was set to be delivered to Melbourne’s branch of the Turbojugend.
The denim jackets and sailor hats were plentiful at the Hifi Bar long before Turbonegro hit the stage.

Jet Boy
I only found out that I was shooting this ‘secret gig’ a few hours before the legendary New York Dolls were to stomp out onto the Cherry Bar stage in Melbourne’s hallowed ACDC Lane. When an opportunity such as this arises, one doesn’t sit back and pontificate if they’re ready… you just say ‘yes’ and get your ass over to the Cherry post-haste!
The New York Dolls are currently in Australia as part of the Buroughs NYC Culture Festival. The Buroughs is a boutique New York City inspired arts and culture festival and no one screams NYC more than the seminal and influential punk rock gods, the New York Dolls.

Death Dies Hard
Arriving at the Corner Hotel somewhat late – knowing full-well that the venue rarely has a designated photo-pit area isn’t the smartest thing to do. If I was to get any decent shots tonight I was gonna have to hustle through the crowd and pretty much hope for the best.
Catching the tail-end of Sydney act Ink, (they weren’t too bad at all) – I slapped on my photo-pass around the neck and proceeded with the ‘scuse-me-shuffle’ to the front of the stage.
