Don’t Fear The Reaper
Arriving at the Prince Bandroom, I was greeted with a massive queue leading into the venue for tonight’s Blue Öyster Cult gig. I haven’t shot at the Prince much, twice before actually… Die Antwoord sometime in 2010, and Rowland S Howard in 2009.
Once inside, the first thing I noticed was that there was absolutely no room to take photos. No pit. No where to get a decent shot. I cursed my luck and wasn’t looking forward to the night ahead.
If I was to get any sort of shot, I would have to improvise.

I had applied for a Die Antwoord photo-pass but knowing my luck, I sure as hell was not expecting to secure one.
Surprisingly, I got the pass and I was eagerly awaiting this gig as I have been a fan of the band for a while and felt that it would be a kick ass opportunity to photograph a band that is going to be HUGE in a couple of years. Mark my words!

Pop Crimes
Bit of an impromptu gig tonight. My girlfriend happens to be a very big fan of Rowland S. Howard. So much so when we bumped into Rowland at the Nick Cave exhibition a year or so ago, he knew her by name. I recently bought her Rowland’s new album Pop Crimes for her birthday – but tonight, she bought us tickets for tonight’s album launch gig at the Prince Bandroom.
